Village Network at Life Coping
Sep. 08, 2015
Ellen recognized the need for quality, non-medical services to enable the elderly to “age in place.” Many older individuals, who are relatively healthy, prefer to remain in their home. But because of gaps in tasks that they once so easily performed they are forced to leave the home that they love. The Village Network bridges gaps with a phone call and to provide access to a network of trusted non-medical providers, services, supports and activities that allow members to remain safely and independently in their home enabling them to participate in and have access to their community. |

Oct. 13, 2015 4:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
SPAGHETTI CITY – The Tradition Continues! The Rotary Club of Nashua West will hold its Annual Spaghetti City on Tuesday, October 13th at the Nashua Senior Activity Center at 70 Temple Street, Nashua NH. The public is invited to share a spaghetti dinner with family, friends, and the extended Nashua Community. Doors open at 4:30 and full course Italian Spaghetti dinners will be served until 7:30 pm including cake and ice cream deserts served by High School and Community College students from Rotaract and Interact. Our club has proudly produced Spaghetti City for 40 years and it’s become a perennial favorite to many Nashua area residents. We are appreciative for the Nashua Senior Activity Center that allows use of their facility to bring this special dinner to attendees. With their downtown location and large parking lot, we can hold this fun event for all. Dinner guests are invited to help select the winner of the Ninth Annual People’s Choice Awards. Local Rotary Clubs submit their own special sauce to be judged by the Spaghetti City guests. At the end of the evening, the highly coveted Paisano Cup is presented to the Rotary Club with the winning sauce. That club has "bragging rights" as the best of Sauce from Spaghetti City for the whole year. Ticket cost is $5.00 per person. Tickets can be purchased at the door. Proceeds benefit local scholarships and charities. Business sponsorships are available. Please contact the Rotary Club of Nashua West for details of sponsorships. The Rotary Club of Nashua West is a non-profit group of local business people. The club participates in local fund raisers and donates ALL proceeds to local, regional, and international causes in its commitment to Rotary’s Mission of "Service Above Self". The club’s most notable fundraiser is the Rock’n Ribfest held each year at the Merrimack Anheuser Busch Plant in June. Last year, the club donated over $150K to local non-profits, college scholarships, regional relief, and international relief efforts. |

Body Weight & Body Fat %
Jan. 26, 2016
Once we finish club business, those interested in the challenge can stick around and record your body weight & body fat %. It will be done via fit bit, so your personal info will be kept private. Those of you who want to to do it, a friendly "wager" of $5.00 will be collected. The winner of the challenge will take home the kitty! Think of it as an incentive :-) Weight loss will be measured by total % lost, not pounds. Body fat % will be starting point and end point. The challenge will end APRIL 19th - just in time for Spring! |
